    Hurricane Preparation Resources

NC Conference Disaster Ministries posted some tips on how you can prepare your home, church, and congregation in the event of a disaster. Share these resources with your congregation to make sure your members are prepared.

We have included a post below that you can share on your church's social media account to help members in your community prepare.

  • Resuming Worship May 24

It's been quite a while since our last public worship gathering on March 8th.  As faithful disciples of Jesus Christ, guided by love we have complied with national, state and local authorities, as well as with the guidelines from the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church to do all we can to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus.  We have been faithful as a church to cooperate and you have been faithful as the people of God in your faithful and continuous support of our church.  The time has now come when we have been given the permission and discretion to reopen our church for public worship experiences.  On May 21rst our Church Council met and decided to move forward to resume our public worship gatherings.  The decision pertains to resuming our Sunday morning worship services that begin at 10:45am.  We will resume our services beginning this Sunday, May 24th.  Please take note of the following safety protocols that we will utilize as we resume.

-Enter through the Sanctuary front door and the Fellowship Hall door.

-Ushers will be in place with hand sanitizer, wipes, and masks.  We ask you to use the hand sanitizer and wipes, and offer the masks for those who wish to use them.

-Observe a safe distance of 6 feet between non-family members.

-The ushers will assist family units with the seating arrangements to insure safe distancing between other family units.

-The ushers will use their own discretion in whether to "mask up" or not, as will each worshiper.

-We will have a stationary collection plate posted at the alter for those who wish to make their contributions.  No collection plates will be passed around the congregation.  You may still mail your gifts or drop them off at the church office Tuesday-Thursday from 10am-2pm.

-We will not be using bulletins or passing out any paper products that might carry germs at this time.

-In the event that we have a larger crowd than can safely be contained in the sanctuary our ushers will guide the overflow to the fellowship hall where they will be able to view the service on the big screen TV.

-We will have music but not congregational singing until we reach Phase 3 of the reopening process.

-We will continue to post the woship service online (YouTube).

The resuming of our public worship will be a work in progress.  Thank you for your faithfulness and patience.  Any suggestions that may improve our worship experience will be much appreciated and may be shared directly with the pastor.  (910-624-1219 or by email bryansexton@mebtel.net).

May God continue to bless and keep you in His great covenant love!

I look forward to seeing you when you feel comfortable and safe to return to our public worship gatherings.

***P.S.   I think it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, if you have been exposed to anyone who has Covid-19 or if you do not feel well, please wait until you are well to rejoin us.  This is love.
