Girl Scouting

From Anna Kate Weeks:

Gifts for Ghana
For my Girl Scout Silver Award Project, I made headbands out of used t-shirts and decorated flip flops with fabric scraps to send to children living at an orphanage in Ghana, Africa. I also purchased craft supplies, school supplies, and clothing. I sent all of these items with my sister and a mission team from the nonprofit organization, Where Love Abounds. They traveled to Ghana for a mission trip July 27 - August 7, 2017. These items benefited the children because the flip flops gave them protection for their feet (since shoes are a very big need) and the headbands keep sweat from their eyes (since it is very hot in Ghana). Craft supplies were used at a Vacation Bible School conducted by the mission team during their trip. School supplies and clothing items were distributed to the children and will be used throughout the year.
